Seminar „Architectural and room acoustics‘‘
On Thursday, June 14th, UAB Akustika Plius participated in a seminar “Architecture and Room Acoustics”.
In this fast-paced world, one is constantly looking for comfort, and good acoustics are one of the key components of comfort. When it’s good, we don’t notice it, but with poor acoustics, it immediately affects our well-being. Unfortunately, we can not always change the noise around us quickly. During the seminar, we shared the experience of creating spaces that ensure acoustic comfort and aimed to show that every architect can become a composer of their own designed building.
During the seminar, famous Lithuanian and foreign acoustics professionals and architects also revealed their design experience and insights into the design of public and residential buildings, how to implement exceptional architectural ideas by applying acoustic solutions.
Speakers:
“Comfort begins with a good project”, Andreas Strauß, Germany;
“Acoustics. Shape. Architecture ”, Gintare Privediene and Viktoras Mekas, Lithuania;
“Architectural Appearance and Acoustic Requirements”, Nicolas Pomränke, Germany;
“Acoustic Plaster Products – A Natural Choice for Indoors”, Erik Ipsen, Denmark;

“ACOUSTICS. SHAPE. ARCHITECTURE” by Gintarė Privedienė and Viktoras Mekas
A room with good acoustics is an instrument to the performer. And it’s not just a thing – it’s a feeling. Architectural acoustics is not just about materiality, but first and foremost it is about the shape. Acoustically influenced room shape can become the character and an advantage to the designed space. The influence of room’s shape on acoustics and its role in architecture is presented on the basis of these projects: Vilnius Juozas Tallat-Kelpša Conservatory Event Hall; Sound recording studio and the rehearsal space of Lithuania National Martynas Mažvydas Library; Dance Theater Hall of the National Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis School of Arts.
